Our History
The Gongolier Robotics Empowerment Groups (G.R.E.G.) is a Rhode Island based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our focus is to provide resources and opportunities to bring STEM to young students throughout the community as well as help provide tools and resources to Rhode Island robotic teams.
Founded by Greg Coffey, Lead Mentor, in 2023, The Gongolier Robotics Empowerment Group has been able to help fund and support the expansion of STEM within its community. Its goal is to raise awareness of STEM throughout the students in Rhode Island and assist in creating opportunities for these students.
G.R.E.G. started with a group of 5 members sitting on the Board of Directors and since then, the BOD has grown to 6. The name was developed from mentors of the local robotics team looking to branch out not only to mentor the local team but to empower and expand STEM to its surrounding communities.
